This platform was created by college students who understand the financial pressures that come with tuition, student loans, budgeting, and planning for the future. We break down complex financial topics into clear, easy-to-understand lessons that support informed decision-making.

Our content focuses on building foundational knowledge in areas such as credit, student loans, budgeting, taxes, and investing. By providing educational tools and resources, we aim to help individuals develop strong financial habits in college and beyond.

Financial Planning (B.A.)

Barrett, the Honors College | W.P. Carey School of Business | Arizona State University

Hello! I’m Maranda, a senior majoring in Financial Planning at Arizona State University. My coursework has strengthened my understanding of core financial topics such as budgeting, investing, credit, and tax fundamentals, and has helped shape the foundation of this platform. I am currently preparing for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam and plan to pursue the CFP® certification in the future as part of my professional development. I am passionate about helping students feel more confident in their financial knowledge and decision-making skills.

Throughout college, I noticed many students feel unsure about topics such as credit, student loans, budgeting, and investing. I wanted to help bridge that knowledge gap in a way that is accessible, easy to understand, and reaches more people than word of mouth alone.

That’s why I helped create College Money Mind, a place where students can learn financial concepts in a way that’s simple, relatable, and actually useful in everyday life. This platform is designed to make financial literacy more approachable and accessible so students can graduate not only with a degree, but also with the knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions.

Marketing (B.S.) | Minor in Project Management

Barrett, the Honors College | W.P. Carey School of Business | Arizona State University

Hello! I’m Maya, a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a minor in Project Management at Arizona State University. Through my coursework and internship experiences, I’ve built a strong foundation in digital marketing, social media, and data-driven decision-making, using insights and creativity to turn ideas into content that truly connects with people.

With my background in marketing, I focus on shaping College Money Mind’s digital presence and overall user experience. From the design of our website to the content we share, my role centers on making financial information feel simple, engaging, and easy to navigate. I aim to take topics that can feel overwhelming and turn them into something approachable, relatable, and actually useful in everyday life.

I helped create College Money Mind because I saw how many students, including myself, felt unprepared when it came to managing money after college. Financial literacy isn’t always taught in a way that resonates with our generation, and we, as a team, wanted to change that. By combining my passion for marketing with a purpose-driven mission, I aim to help students confidently step into life after college, where financial literacy serves as the foundation for a life full of possibilities.

Computer Information Systems (B.S.)

Barrett, the Honors College | W.P. Carey School of Business | Arizona State University

Hello! I’m Jason, a senior at Arizona State University studying Computer Information Systems. Through my coursework and personal projects, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of financial topics such as budgeting, investing, debt management, and financial planning. I’m passionate about helping college students build practical financial knowledge so they can make smarter decisions during and after their time in school.

During my time in college, I’ve seen how many students feel overwhelmed by financial topics like student loans, credit cards, budgeting, and investing. Many people want to improve their financial situation but don’t always know where to start or where to find reliable, easy-to-understand information.

That’s one of the reasons I helped create College Money Mind. The goal of this platform is to make financial literacy more accessible and practical for students by breaking down complex financial concepts into simple tools, resources, and guides. By providing calculators, educational content, and real-world financial insights, we hope to help students graduate not only with a degree, but also with the confidence and knowledge needed to manage their finances successfully.
